On March 15-16, 2025, in Anji County, Zhejiang Province, the birthplace of the "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" theory, the first new product review and launch ceremony of the convenient push-pull vibration shaking type Camellia oleifera fruit special harvester for mountainous and hilly areas was grandly held. This event was jointly organized by the Camellia Industry Branch of China Forestry and Environment Promotion Association, Zhejiang Academy of Forestry Sciences, and Anhui Agricultural University. It attracted over 70 participants from government departments, research institutes, universities, enterprises, and various media outlets in Jiangxi, Hunan, Henan, Guangxi, Zhejiang and other regions. A decade of relentless innovation has culminated in breakthroughs for mechanized camellia oleifera harvesting. As China's first intelligent harvesting equipment specifically developed for mountainous and hilly terrains, the "Gaofuyu" Camellia Oleifera Harvester represents the culmination of 12 years of technological breakthroughs, with over 38 million yuan invested in R&D. This innovative machine successfully overcomes industry bottlenecks of low efficiency and high costs associated with traditional manual harvesting, elevating camellia fruit harvesting to new levels of efficiency, time-saving, and intelligent operation. The harvester features a groundbreaking push-pull vibration design, achieving a daily workload equivalent to 10 manual laborers. Equipped with an intelligent frequency conversion system, it adapts to various slope gradients and camellia tree ages, meeting diverse plantation requirements. Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Creates a Sci-Tech Model for Rural Revitalization At the review conference, Feng Jifu, an expert from the Development Research Center of the State Council and a national woody oil crops specialist with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, emphasized that this product's launch marks China's camellia oleifera industry entering the era of intelligent mechanization. Huang Lichao, Deputy Secretary-General of the Oil-Tea Camellia Industry Branch at China Forestry and Environment Promotion Society, conducted a live demonstration showcasing the equipment's high-efficiency performance in mountainous terrain. Field test results revealed that a single unit performs harvesting work equivalent to 10 manual laborers compared to traditional methods. Chai Xiuhong, chairman of Zhejiang Jianlin Technology Co., Ltd., announced plans to collaborate with Zhejiang Academy of Forestry Sciences on developing a 5G remote harvesting data management system, initiating the digital transformation of camellia fruit data collection. Ecology-Economy Synergy: Pioneering a New Pathway for "Two Mountains" Transformation The director of Anji County Forestry Bureau stated in his speech that Jianlin Technology's innovative practices vividly exemplify the "Two Mountains" theory. According to estimates, if this equipment is adopted nationwide in camellia oleifera production areas, it could reduce manual labor input by over 50 million work hours annually, equivalent to cutting carbon emissions by 1.2 million tons. During the new product review and launch conference, Zhejiang Jianlin Technology also signed strategic cooperation agreements with enterprise representatives from major camellia-producing regions including Jiangxi, Hunan, and Guangxi. Industry experts unanimously agree that the industrialization of the "Gaofuyu" camellia harvester will effectively overcome mechanization challenges in mountainous agriculture and inject technological momentum into the high-quality development of China's woody oil crop industry. With mass production now underway, this "labor-saving tool" is rapidly being deployed across millions of acres of camellia plantations nationwide, writing a new chapter of "technology empowering agriculture" in the story of rural revitalization.
